For competition to improve anything for people, it must be responsive and migrative in and between egalitarian communities (such as in http://comcomist.wikidot.com/ ) and not vertical, hierarchical and accumulative. Alas, the competition between bureaucrats, judges and/or "in the free market", is only accumulative, vertical and confined in few hierarchies, having their lobby power to constantly change the laws, only for their benefit, while producing higher destabilisation factor.
As such, the vertical competition improves, rewards and retains only the existing power centres, which are too large to fall and grow, works against competition against them, is bubbleish, predatory and destructive, especially when its economists are acting as military personnels (the Chicago neoliberal colonialists) and as the relevance of their accumulative detailed education and knowledge are only temporal.
